A few months back our buddy Mike (aka Knightlife) called me up and said “I want to do a preview trailer for my new 12” and was like “what are you talking about? a trailer for a 12…? dude, who does that?“. Then I realized that no one does this. So in the Cutters spirit of forward thinking (or gross lack of judgement) it was decided to make a trailer for Knightlife ‘II’. why the hell not…

So just to give you some background… let’s just get this straight -  we all know Knightlife is really good at making music and remixing and deejaying; this is common knowledge. But as if to rub it in even further he’s also a wizard in the film editing suite, so he actually put this whole trailer together himself. Way to show off. My favorite point is when the second guy in the yellow comes in - that pretty much sums up my reaction when I heard the demos to Knightlife ‘II’. Watch, listen and enjoy.

It’s been only a matter of weeks since we’ve touched back down on Australian shores after 12 months touring, most recently in the US with Knightlife in toe as our acrobatic warmup deejay. So it’s seems strangely fitting that on the eve of the release of his second release, Knightlife II, we are about to return the favour, stalking his every move, pestering him for requests and hanging on his every track selection as we join him for a series of Cutters Records parties along the east coast of Australia.

The party promises to be an evening of inter-dimensional disco rhythms and house energy showcasing the newest additions to the Cutters record collection featuring Cut Copy DJs and of course Knightlife celebrating the release of his brand spanking new 12″ ‘Knightlife II’ (released on Cutters Records later this month). Other guests in selected cites by Cutters favorites Nile Delta, Das Moth and DJ Dreamtime as well as Noise in my head (PBS FM) regulars and purveyors of other-worldly jams; Nervous Jack and DJ Biscuit. It’s going to be weird, it’s going to be party, but hopefully life-changing so buy a ticket.

Who needs a website these days? That’s what we’ve been telling ourselves. At Cutters we were always under the impression that the whole internet thing was a bit of a passing fad. Here today, gone tomorrow. A little detour on the highway of cultural trends.
But I guess now it’s time to admit that we were wrong, or rather we started feeling left out after looking at all our friends’ facebooks, blogs and myspaces.
