He’s been called the baron of the beats, a knight of life, the life of the night, or even occasionally plain Mike Gamwell, To you and I though, he is only Knightlife. Long considered to be Cutters Records’ secret weapon and he’s back with his 4th release on cutters,I Want You.
Wow, what a week! It’s hard to believe we’ve been blessed with two knightlife releases. First was the Serves You Right 12″ and now the mothership has come to earth in the form of the 8 track, I Want You EP which is Mr Knightlife’s most substantial release to date, and his best (in our humble, clearly unbiased opinion). It also features the remix talents of the rather excellent Weekend Express, Bobby Boomerang and The Emperor Machine. And the cover artwork (seen above) comes courtesy of the tasteful and talented folk at Alter.
We could blabber on all day about it, but I think at this point the best strategy is to listen to it yourself and get acquainted. There are plenty of things in life that you may end up regretting, but this is definitely NOT one of them! Go forth and enjoy.
You maybe have wondering why things have been a little quiet lately, but that’s only because we’ve been busy behind the scenes doing what labels do; turning the cogs of the record industry, scouring for diamonds in the rough and through the use of magic, fashioning them into future hits.
So anyway… having gotten that out of the way, we now have a stack of exciting 12″s and EPs queued up to unleash over the coming weeks. And followers of Cutters will be pleased to know that first up is a new 12″ single from Knightlife.
For those who are wondering, he’s been decorating his lounge room for the last 12 months with a shrine-like arrangement of synthesizers, obscure disco 12 inches and a spaghetti of patch leads. He’s almost finished now, so someone at cutters politely suggested maybe he should put another 12″.
Not only did he oblige, but he has also got an 8 track EP titled ‘I Want You‘ ready to release on cutters at the end of this month. The lead track, ‘Serves You Right‘ gives us the first taste of the fruits of his labour, a futuristic disco gem available on 12″ in just a couple of days. Along with it comes an awesome Emperor Machine remix and dancefloor bomb ‘Otherway‘.
For Melbourne and Sydney residents, you’ll be pleased to know that we’re launching Knightlife’s new 12″ and EP with parties over the next two weeks. Come celebrate with Knightlife! Get tickets below before they’re all gone.

A west-coast US group, propelled by a love of Chicago acid houseandexperimental pop? Hmm… Sounds suspiciously like a perfect addition to Cut Copy’s deejay playlist. So then it should come as no surprise that it’s actually a description of Cutters Records’ exciting new signing, The Miracles Club.
Having quickly emerged as instigators in Portland, Oregon’s underground dance music community, members Rafael Fauria, Honey Owens and Ryan Boyle fuse elements of classic Chicago acid house, world music, left-field pop and contemporary dance. Their infectious transmissions and live happenings have energized Portland’s current Madchester style explosion of club music mutations.
Having released an their debut EP through Mexican Summer last year, they have joined the Cutters fold and return with a vibrant 12″ and digital EP, featuring international reworkings of their psychedelic house jam, ‘Light of Love’ by Cut Copy, New York’s Neurotic DrumBand and Ulysses plus new anthem, ‘So Hot‘.
It feels like the second coming of Jack, but BELIEVE… it’s the rise of a new dawn! For more info and a taste of the release, listen here or BUY IT NOW: JUNO, iTUNES or 12″ VINYL
Get very excited, because Nile Delta has unveiled his debut EP on cutters. We’ve barely had a chance to get word out about it yet, but lo and behold, It went straight to # 1 on Juno download!… and in fact it’s been in DJ charts for pretty much everyone since the vinyl release a few weeks back. So no surprise really. This release is a MONSTER!
For the uninitiated Nile Delta is dancefloor wizard Joel Dickson, former member of Riot In Belgium and current member of Cutters’ dynamic-duo, Voltage. Having spent the past year neck-deep in the producer’s role for other people’s records - it was only a matter of time before this, Nile Delta’s debut EP ‘Channel / All This’ emerged, shimmering, from the water. For more info on it, check here or if you want to get it into your hot little hands right now, then you can BUY IT HERE on
And… for those that still want more… check out this ‘making of’ video for the EP. I didn’t know Nile Delta spoke with a cockney accent, nor did I know he looked exactly like Vince Clarke. Oh well you learn something new every day!
