You maybe have wondering why things have been a little quiet lately, but that’s only because we’ve been busy behind the scenes doing what labels do; turning the cogs of the record industry, scouring for diamonds in the rough and through the use of magic, fashioning them into future hits.
So anyway… having gotten that out of the way, we now have a stack of exciting 12″s and EPs queued up to unleash over the coming weeks. And followers of Cutters will be pleased to know that first up is a new 12″ single from Knightlife.
For those who are wondering, he’s been decorating his lounge room for the last 12 months with a shrine-like arrangement of synthesizers, obscure disco 12 inches and a spaghetti of patch leads. He’s almost finished now, so someone at cutters politely suggested maybe he should put another 12″.
Not only did he oblige, but he has also got an 8 track EP titled ‘I Want You‘ ready to release on cutters at the end of this month. The lead track, ‘Serves You Right‘ gives us the first taste of the fruits of his labour, a futuristic disco gem available on 12″ in just a couple of days. Along with it comes an awesome Emperor Machine remix and dancefloor bomb ‘Otherway‘.

Get very excited, because Nile Delta has unveiled his debut EP on cutters. We’ve barely had a chance to get word out about it yet, but lo and behold, It went straight to # 1 on Juno download!… and in fact it’s been in DJ charts for pretty much everyone since the vinyl release a few weeks back. So no surprise really. This release is a MONSTER!
For the uninitiated Nile Delta is dancefloor wizard Joel Dickson, former member of Riot In Belgium and current member of Cutters’ dynamic-duo, Voltage. Having spent the past year neck-deep in the producer’s role for other people’s records - it was only a matter of time before this, Nile Delta’s debut EP ‘Channel / All This’ emerged, shimmering, from the water. And… for those that still want more… check out this ‘making of’ video for the EP. I didn’t know Nile Delta spoke with a cockney accent, nor did I know he looked exactly like Vince Clarke. Oh well you learn something new every day!
Yesssss! Some good news for Australian fans of Cutters Records. Because we’re taking our party and two of our newest artists Nile Delta and Das Moth on the road in February along with a bunch of special international and local guests to celebrate the release of the two new EPs on the label. Top on the bill are Dan & Tim (gee I wonder who they could be… hmm… well I’ll give you a hint, it’s Cut Copy DJs). We’re sure they’ll be eager to bring the party to a rhythm-fuelled climax, having spent much of 2010 couped up in the studio making their 3rd studio album, Zonoscope.
And the guests of honour at these parties are two of the newest signings to the Label, basement house wizard Nile Delta and Das Moth (japan)*. Nile Delta has just released the scorching debut ‘Channel / All This‘ EP and Das Moth’s ‘Moon / Wrong‘ EP has already raced into record stores and out again before you could raise your hands and utter the word ‘tune!’.

Happy New Year, merry xmas and all that. Things get crazy this time of year, and as a result you may have missed out on some pretty vital stuff while your attention was smothered by christmas shopping and the inevitable marathon of year-ending festivities.
One such dazzling gem of information is the long awaited debut solo release of Nile Delta, whose 12″ snuck into stores late in december. If Cutters were the lakers circa ‘99, then Nile Delta would no doubt be Shaq; the go-to-remixer-guy under the basket with twice the dancefloor muscle of anyone else on the court. Thankfully we’re not the Lakers, but his reworks of the likes of Mobroder, Domeyko/Gonzales & Midnight Juggernauts, and production on the last two cutters 12″s by Voltage and Das Moth have been nothing short of MVP material. So obviously we’re more than a little excited about his debut solo release Channel / All This , featuring two originals and remixes by Chicken Lips and Tornado Wallace. It’s charted in many stores and as a result has sold out, so be quick if you dont want to miss out.
